What are the requirements for this remote to work with my PC?
You will need one USB slot available. The X-Sight series is designed to work on Windows XP, but will also run on Windows Vista, 7 and 8/8.1. For the software to work correctly, Internet Explorer 7 or higher is required. Any other operating systems or webbrowsers are not supported.
I cannot connect my remote to the website. What can I do?
Below you will find a number of tips to resolve the issue. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer 7 or higher before attempting establishing a connection.
1) First, please ensure you have the latest conduit version installed. You can find it here:
During the first connection, you will be asked if you wish to install an ActiveX component (in the form of a yellow bar popping up). Make sure it is accepted, as this allows the software to communicate with the website and remote.
2) Display the www.ez-rc.com page in compatibility view. This can be achieved by navigating to Tools and click on Compatibility View in the drop-down menu. The page will reload and you can now attempt connecting again.
3) If that didn't resolve the issue, please try the following:
- Navigate to Tools and select Internet Options
- Go to the tab Security and deselect "Enable Protected Mode"
- Close all Internet Explorer windows and reopen the www.ez-rc.com website
- Log in and check if you are now able to connect
4) If the issue continues to persist, open Internet Options again and check the following:
- Go to the Security tab and ensure that the "Security Level" bar is set to "Medium-High" or lower
- Go to the Privacy tab and ensure that the bar is "Medium" or lower
5) If you are still unable to connect, please contact our helpdesk for further assistance.
An update window appears when I try to log on to EZ-RC, but the software does not seem to update properly.
When the software doesn't update automatically, please install the latest version directly. You can download the conduit file from this location: www.oneforall.com/conduit/conduit.exe
Once downloaded, please close all Internet Explorer Windows and run the file. The EZ-RC program will update, and you can then access the EZ-RC website again.
Using the Back button on Internet Explorer results in an unexpected page?
We recommend that you use the Previous and Next buttons on the website itself. If you are in the middle of a wizard, Internet Explorer sees this as one page, so pressing back on the browser button will result in exiting the wizard.
Can I use www.ez-rc.com with Mozillla, Firefox, or another browser?
The EZ-RC website requires ActiveX to communicate between the X-Sight remote and your PC. Since ActiveX is not available for Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, the website is only compatible with Internet Explorer 7 or higher.
I know the code that my device uses. Can I just enter it?

Once a Macro is setup, how can I change which device it is assigned to?
You can change this via the “Edit Extended Keys” option under the Advanced section of the Main Menu.
Is it possible to put a Macro on the Power key in an Activity?
Yes, using the Advanced Activity Wizard, or by modifying the Activity and selecting ‘key control assignment’. This is useful for creating an “All off” Macro for example.
To do this, you will first have to create a Macro from the Advanced section of the Main Menu screen. Give the Macro a relevant name, for example ‘All Off’. Next, build the Macro by selecting the device and function to the right of the function list, and click the arrow to transfer the function to the list. Please make sure you check all available functions in the list (including extended functions), as it may include discrete Power On and Power Off functions, which will only turn the device in question on or off, not toggle between the two states. These functions may be present in the list even if they were not available on the original remote.
Next, assign the Macro to a key on one of your devices, and the Macro Wizard will close.
To add the Macro to the Power key in an Activity, select ‘Modify Activity’ from the Main Menu page, and when prompted select the ‘key control assignment’. Here you will be able to edit which keys control which devices during the Activity, and if you select the Power key, the Macro is now available to assign to it.
Is it possible to put my devices, activities & profiles in a different order?
Yes, this is possible. This can be done from the Main Menu, by clicking Devices (for example), and as well as Add, Delete etc, there is now the extra option ‘Reorder Devices’.
Once selected, a list of currently programmed devices is displayed, and can be re-ordered by clicking on the device name, followed by the up or down arrows shown on the right to change its position in the list.
Is it possible to simulate a ‘press & hold’ effect on a key within a Macro or Activity?
Yes, this is possible. When editing or creating a Macro (from the Advanced section on the Main Menu screen) or when using the Advanced wizard to create an Activity, there is a screen where the timing between the commands sent in a macro can be adjusted. This now has an extra option called Press and Hold Duration, which allows for a key to be held down for up to 20 seconds.
This means the remote can now turn on Panasonic TVs, for example, which require the Power key to be held down for approximately one and a half to two seconds.
Is it possible to remove the ‘Assist’ button from the screen?
Yes, it is possible to hide the "Assist" key by deselecting the "Show Assist Button" in the Advanced Activity wizard, or by modifying the Activity and selecting "Key control assignment".
The installation on my Windows XP system seems to take a long time, is this normal?
If you do not have Service Pack 3 installed on your XP machine yet, the installation program will download and install this first. Since the service pack is over 300Mb in size, it can take a while depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
If you already have SP3 installed (either manually or via Windows Automatic Update), the installation should be significantly shorter.
How can I tune in my TV channels?
The X-sight 8602 does not have its own way of tuning in the channels. This depends entirely on how the tuning was done with the original remote. You should find instructions on how to do the tuning in your TV user manual.
If you no longer have the user manual, nor the original remote, and you do not know exactly how the tuning was done, please contact the TV manufacturer for assistance. Quote your TV model number and either ask them to replace the manual, or ask them to tell you, step by step, how you would tune the TV stations when using the original remote control.

Does the One for All operate my Sky+ or SkyHD receiver?
Yes, the X-sight Colour operates all brands including this one. The basic code for most mainstream Sky+ receivers is Satellite code 1175. For SkyHD, this is Satellite code 1662.
You can also use the "Find your setup code" tab above to find the right code for your xxxx and enter the exact make and model number of your Sky receiver.
Does this remote support RF (radio frequency) signals to operate Home Automation devices?
No, this remote only supports IR (infra red) controlled devices. Only the X-Sight Touch, which is a superior model, has this feature built-in.

My X-Sight does not seem to connect to my PC/laptop. What can I do to resolve this?
Please contact customer support (through the link at the bottom of the page). In order to aid further, please supply the following details regarding Operating System (OS) and the type of internet browser. Please note that the Xsight series of remotes only supports a combination of Windows and Internet Explorer. Mac and Linux are not supported, and neither are other Internet Browsers such as Firefox and Chrome.
For Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista, and Windows 7, please supply the following info:
- Which version of Internet Explorer are you using?
- What is the version of the EZ-RC conduit? (If you right click on the icon it can read EZ-RC 18.104.22.1688 or it will have a different number)
- When connecting your remote to the PC via the USB cable, does the icon (bottom right) change from red to green? (On your Xsight, you should get the message “USB Connected”)
- Was ActiveX component authorized to allow EZ-RC to run within your Internet explorer?
For Windows 8 and 8.1, please check the following:
- Does the message "USB Connected" display when you connect the remote via USB to your computer?
- If this message does appear, is it continuous or does this message disappear after a few seconds?
- If the message disappears after a few seconds and the main menu shows again (favorites, tasks, and equipment), this means that the connection is not maintained. We have encountered this problem with some Windows 8.1 users, and can be resolved by changing a registry value. To resolve this problem, please contact customer support and the file with the required software will be sent via email.
I am unable to register my account on EZ-RC as I do not receive a confirmation email. How can I resolve this?
First of all, please check the spam folder. If it is not there, in order to resolve this issue you have to set the following email address to be "allowed" into your inbox: firstname.lastname@example.org (this setting is specific to the type of email provider you use - gmail, hotmail etc.).
Once this has been done , you should see the confirmation in your inbox as per normal.
Please note, you may need to revisit the ez-rc website and try to login, and you will be given the option to resend the mail.
